Excerpts from recent interviews

INTERVIEW #1

Q: what was the nature of your musical training at a young age? Formal lessons/training? Did you study music in a college or university environment?

A: I took private lessons on guitar off and on for about 2 years starting at 8 and then again at about 11. In high school, I studied basic music theory and began composing classical music, mostly for guitar but also for piano, violin, and string quartet. Since then my travels and interest in ethnic music have inspired my playing and composing.

Q: which musicians had the greatest impact on your development?

January update

Dear Friends,

I hope the New Year is off to a great start for everyone. My New Year's celebration was spent in the Caribbean island of the Dominican Republic where I went scuba diving (got stung twice by a tiny jelly fish), horseback riding through the mountains, and meditated on the beach beneath a palm tree. I will post some photos in the Gallery for those who are interested.
